In this grave of a sleeping baby at Beechworth Cemetery are seven buried children from one family. The Gammon family lost seven children between 1862-1872 that ranged from 9 weeks to 2 years of age. They all died of various diseases that were common in Australia at the time that have fortunately been cured today.
